There is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. However, along with traditional medicine, molecular hydrogen has shown great potential in relieving symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Pain and inflammation — they’re two things that can wreak havoc on your daily life. Furthermore, conditions like rheumatoid arthritis can negatively affect your health. Although not life-threatening, rheumatoid arthritis can make the day-to-day a literal pain. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory
disease that leads to pain and swelling, mainly in the joints. Other symptoms may include tiredness, loss of appetite and lowgrade fever.
Molecular Hydrogen is a powerful antioxidant. People with RA have oxidation stress, caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules. This is because they only contain one electron. As electrons need to be in pairs, free radicals often steal electrons from other cells. This action causes oxidation stress, and Since Molecular Hydrogen (H2) contains two hydrogen atoms, it is able to donate one to free radicals most likely due to its hydroxyl radical neutralizing power. Free radicals are oxygen-containing molecules. Thus, when molecular hydrogen donates a hydrogen atom, the formula for water (H2O) is complete. Thus, molecular hydrogen neutralizes free radicals by turning them into healthy water.
Note – Additional investigations of the benefits of molecular hydrogen for RA patients is needed to be done, as molecular
hydrogen therapy has tremendous potential but is currently under-utilized and its benefits are not thoroughly
explored.
